Jewelry Design Workshop with Matthew Gross

Cranbrook Institute of Science is partnering with the award-winning jeweler Matthew Gross for a unique jewelry design workshop. Join us on Saturday, May 10th from 1-3 pm for a hands-on experience that also includes a rare look at jewelry and art objects from around the world from our collections vault, selected by Institute curator Cameron Wood! Matthew, the owner and chief jewelry designer of MHG Jewelry Studio, located in Berkley, has developed a unique design seminar that is useful for not only jewelry design but other artistic media. Materials kits are provided, allowing participants to use Gross’ innovative approach to arrange basic shapes into pleasing patterns with numerous applications.


Coffee, tea, and light refreshments are included in the non-refundable fee of $42.50 for Institute members and $50 for non-members. Registration is limited to 25 participants and pre-registration is required. This event is suitable for ages 12 and up, with participants aged 12-17 requiring a parent, grandparent or legal guardian also registering.
